Jalte Bujhte Log (جلتے بجھتے لوگ) is a historical Urdu novel written by a famous author Aslam Rahi M.A. It features a social story that portrays the life of a homeless girl who loses everything to get the life that a woman deserves in our society.
Novel’s Story/Summary:
It is not a fictional story, it is a true story the narrator of which is an old lady whom people called psycho but she was not psycho. The conditions and civilization were persecuted by those who gave the illusion of sanctity. Often she used to sit on the streets and collect paper and old boxes around her.
Sadness in her eyes and hunger for bread and rusty face was proof that she was persecuted. The author illustrates the emotions of those women who lose their rights in our society and spend their whole life with no identity.
