Man o Salwa Novel’s Summary.
The central theme of the story is the difference between halal and haram. It makes you realize that you may suffer in being patient and living a halal life, but the sufferings of getting revenge and living a sinful life have a downward spiral that can lead you to misery where you can neither live nor die.
Among the blessings bestowed on the Bani Israels was a blessing called Man-o-Salwa. It was the food they received without having to work for it. For forty years, they ate it and then complained that they didn’t want to eat the same meals every day. They became ungrateful. The writer states that we are following the same path as Bani Israel. We are ungrateful despite having countless blessings of Allah Almighty. We use shortcuts and illegal means of income to get prosperous.
