Maut Sy Wapsi ( موت سے واپسی ) is a novel written by famed history writer Agha Shorish Kashmiri. It features a history and biogeography story that explains the incident of Agha Shorish’s life in the time of British India. At first, the book got published in the local digest, and later it was published as a hardcover book. It is amongst the most famous historical Urdu novels.
The novel’s story revolves around Agha Shorish Kashmiri. Shorish was a well-known journalist, political leader, poet, and speaker to thousands of people. He is known for his famous weekly Chattan. This journal was issued in the period of British India. Agha Shorish was the chief editor of Chattan. He wrote some excellent editorials which attacked the government. The British restricted the journal and arrested Agha Shorish. On the occurrence of Masjid Shaheed Ganj, Agha Shorish delivered a historic address. This statement provoked the people of the whole of India. That speech gave public fame to the Agha Shorish. Soon after, Shorish entered the Majlis e Ahrar, a political party in United India.
After the creation of Pakistan, Agha Shorish came to Lahore. He started the anti-Qadiani movement along with other prominent figures. He was arrested and convicted during this campaign. The government decided to give him capital retribution, but at last, he forgave him.
