Dastan Iman Faroshon Ki (داستان ایمان فروشوں کی) is a famous historical fiction book written by Inayatullah Altammash. The story details the life span, struggles, wisdom, and bravery of famous Muslim commander Salah-ud-Din Ayubi (صلاح الدین ایوبی) during the crusade wars. Having five volumes and approximately two thousand pages, it’s one of the most well-known historical fiction Urdu novels.

Dastan Iman Faroshon Ki tells the stories of the challenges Muslim leaders faced during the crusade wars. To find out the inside information and plans, Christians would send spies to Muslim camps. Those Spies included attractive and lustful girls who would seduce Muslim leaders and find their way into their beds to obtain secrets. Leaders with weak faith fell prey to the trap and provided confidential information to the manipulative lady spies, resulting in their downfall.
In a sense, Salah-ud-Din Ayubi, the Muslim commander, had to fight on three fronts. The traitors inside his army, the manipulating spies, and the enemy in the battleground were all before him. Still, he wasn’t discouraged. In those testing times, it was his clever planning, strategic thinking, and strong will that enabled him to lead his people to victory.
There are eight stories in the book, though the plot remains the same throughout. Each features a leading female spy who tries to lure the Muslim Army leaders into divulging their secret plans. However, Muslim intelligence leader Ali Bin Sufyan outsmarted them. This book will give you valuable insight into espionage, war strategies, and strategic reasoning during crusade wars.
